
Project Overview
Inspired by games such as Hi-Fi Rush and Crypt of the Necrodancer, Brat on the Beat will be a Rhythm Action game. A 3D platformer where keeping to the rhythm will reward the player. The movement, combat and other interactions will all be tied to the music of the game.​
Planned Mechanics

Brat on the Beat will feature an open world, with layers of verticality. The player will be able and incentivised to explore the world. Collectables, side quests and Easter eggs will be dispersed throughout the playable environment.

The game will feature unique combat mechanics, where the player is rewarded for keeping to the beat. Extra damage, combos and additional abilities will be given to the player if they successfully keep to the beat.

The movement in the game will also be influenced by the in game music. Giving the player extra movement speed, jump height and movement abilities.
For example, certain areas of the map may be inaccessible without successfully keeping to the beat.​

Engine and Software
I plan to create the project using the Unity3D engine and blender. This may change as the project planning and research is complete.
